When you run ./configure with the --without-zlib option, you need
also to set wordlist_compress to false in your htdig.conf. However,
that will produce a huge word database file. This is all new to htdig
because of htdig 3.2's new database formats. That's why it wasn't an
issue with 3.1.5.
If by "Linux 6.2" you mean Red Hat Linux 6.2, you really should install
the "zlib" and "zlib-devel" RPM packages and rebuild ht://Dig to use them.
