You will need to edit your CONFIG file and do another "make clean;
make"

Most of the paths are set by the configure script, e.g. --prefix=
--exec-prefix= but in the 3.1.x series the paths are all in CONFIG, not
the Makefiles. (Yes, this is fairly non-standard.)
