Which version of Red Hat Linux are you running, and which RPM did you
install on it? It matters a great deal! The htdig-3.1.4-0.i386.rpm
is for Red Hat 4.x, htdig-3.1.4-0glibc.i386.rpm is for 5.x, and
htdig-3.1.4-0glibc21.i386.rpm is for 6.x. If you use the wrong one,
you'll have all sorts of problems, as the 3 major releases of Red Hat
all have incompatible C library versions. If you can't get any of the
pre-compiled RPMs to work, try rebuilding from the source RPM, using
rpm --rebuild htdig-3.1.4-0.src.rpm
You'll need the full C++ compiler and C and C++ development libraries
installed for the rebuild to work.
