I'll assume the subject field was your question. The answer is no.
Right now, htdig only indexes http servers, and not ftp servers. In the
upcoming 3.2 release, there will be a mechanism for external protocols,
which should allow splicing in clients for ftp or other protocols.
For now, in the 3.1.x series, your only option would be to set up your
anonymous ftp file collection to be accessible by an http server as well,
so that it could be indexed that way, or to use the local_urls option to
index those files locally. You could also make use of url_part_aliases
to rewrite certain http:// urls to ftp:// urls in the search results,
by defining different url_part_aliases for your htdig and htsearch
