I have Irix 5.3 (old) and gcc 2.95.1 (new). ./configure runs okay.

However, I am getting some errors with make:

># make
>make[1]: Entering directory `/disk2/usr/people/paul/htdig-3.1.3/db/dist'
>make[1]: Nothing to be done for `all'.
>make[1]: Leaving directory `/disk2/usr/people/paul/htdig-3.1.3/db/dist'
>make[1]: Entering directory `/disk2/usr/people/paul/htdig-3.1.3/htlib'
>c++ -c -DDEFAULT_CONFIG_FILE=\"/opt/www/htdig/conf/htdig.conf\"
>-I../htlib -I../htcommon -I../db/dist -I../include -O2 Connection.cc
>Connection.cc: In method `int Connection::read_partial(char *, int)':
>Connection.cc:380: implicit declaration of function `int bzero(...)'
>make[1]: *** [Connection.o] Error 1
>make[1]: Leaving directory `/disk2/usr/people/paul/htdig-3.1.3/htlib'
>make: *** [all] Error 1

>Retriever.cc: In function `void sig_handlers()':
>Retriever.cc:211: ANSI C++ prohibits conversion from `(int)' to `(...)'
>make[1]: *** [Retriever.o] Error 1
