htdig: Parsing search results with .shtml

Hello:
As for as I understood the procedure, the CGI Programm creates the page
showing the search results using the files header.html and footer.html.
Consider the case where the footer File has an include statement like:
    <!--#include file='includes/german_footer.html'-->
Normally I would change footer.html to footer.shtml to force the server
to parse this document. But for the generated search results page there
is no filename. Is there a way to force the server to parse this result page?

I really think this would be a cool feature!
