Okay,
        On HPUX 10.20 I got make 3.77, binutils 2.9.1, gcc 2.8.1, libstdc++ 2.8.1,
and libg++ 2.9.1.1a. /usr/local/lib is:
-rw-r--r-- 1 lws user 2503532 Sep 18 17:08 libg++.a
-rw-r--r-- 1 lws user 242750 Sep 18 17:07 libiberty.a
-rw-r--r-- 1 lws user 2239926 Sep 18 17:08 libstdc++.a

c++, g++, gcc are in /opt/gcc/bin (in my path) and configure still gives me:

loading cache ./config.cache
configuring HTDig version 3.1.0b
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... yes
checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) is a cross-compiler... no
checking whether we are using GNU C... yes
checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes
checking for c++... c++
checking whether the C++ compiler (c++ ) works... yes

checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... c++ -E
checking for fstream.h... no

To compile ht://Dig you will need to have a C++ library installed.
If you are using gcc, you need to get and install libg++.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
