htdig: htmerge fails

I've been having some strange problems with htmerge since I upgraded to
RedHat 5.0. In a nutshell, I run a slightly modified version of the
rundig script from cron. Htdig seems to do it's thing without a
problem, but htmerge fails:

htmerge: Sorting...
htmerge: Merging...
<stuff snipped>
htmerge: 14400:zns
htmerge: Word sort failed

Now, the wierd thing is, if I run htmerge manually from the command
line, it's fine. I've already tried recompiling htdig, and that didn't
solve the problem. Anyone know what's going on? This isn't some kind
silly path problem is it?

Thanks,

Rod Heyd
