OK, I tried again with lower optimization and from the source
directory. I got the same response AFAICT. Is there a problem with
having older versions of htdb around?

Unfortunately I can't arrange for you to log on since I only have a
PPP connection and a 90 minute limit. But I can obviously start
turning on some additional debugging operations if you can't figure
it out.
