 That's on my short list. I'm currently fixing a bug in htword that
occurs in extreme situations (DocID overflow and such). I think
there is a better solution and don't see why it should fail at all. I
won't have access to solaris before Feb 12 though. I'm very worried
about these problems. I have two guess : first is that interdependant
libraries and dynamic loader do not like each other. I spent time to
make htlib+htword+htdb independant from htcommon but htlib and htword
still depend on each other. Of course this is wild guess but people
dealing with shared libraries warn you against that. It depends on the
ability of the dynamic loader to handle these cases and this is
dangerous.

 The worst of all is that dynamic linking problems of that kinds shows in
very strange ways. What I would like to do is to compile htdig on solaris
with shared lib and run the test. I run htdig on solaris from time to time
but it's for purifying purpose and ... purify requires static linking
to work properly.
