This is probably a good point to update everyone on the freeze for
3.2.0b1. Right now, I think we should be overly cautious about any
non-documentation changes. I originally put the freeze on simply
because we had to get it out the door.
After the release, I'm going to merge the 3-2-x branch back onto the
mainline, and then I think accept contributions and take care of the
remaining work for 3.2.0. Of course this will probably necessitate a
few beta releases, but I think once we have 3.2.0b1 out the door it
will be easier to do these.
The short answer to Hans-Peter is that I think this should go into
3.2.0 since that's still a ways off.
