Subject: [htdig3-dev] non-blocking connections for htdig

Hi,
I would like to use htdig to search also some of the pages which are
on the internet and not only in my IntraNet. The problem is, that the
reading of the htdig module is blocking, and the program waits a long time
before it gives up and continue to the next link, when the current link is
directing to a non-existing site.
Fixing the reading classes seems to me like quite a long task, as it
involves changing all the calls to open and read the sockets, to
non-blocking ones.
If there is a version that already implemented that, or if someone
has already done this, I will be happy to know about it.
Thanks in advance.
