I am trying to compile version 3.1.2 on an HP 9000 857 under HPUX 10.20
using gcc (g++) version 2.8.1
I get an error message:

I am new at C and don't know where to go with this error. It seems to
point to header files, or ANSI declaration.
I will be glad to contribute the binaries after succeeding...
