I have created a little mockup for an improved main homepage for the
ht://dig website. Please check the following URL:

Geoff mentioned that he would like to improve the ht://dig logo graphics.
I'll be happy to do new ones, but I don't have a good idea what they should
look like. Does anyone else have any suggestions? I think that a 'techie'
feel for our logo would be appropriate. What about a standard color scheme?
I think that the light-blue background on our current pages is rather
lame...I prefer white backgrounds, in general.
It has also been mentioned that we might wish to change the standard "star"
in the release package. I think that the current one is too big. I would
vote for a "temperature bar," like I have installed on my university site:
http://www.cua.edu/search/
One of the things I would like to do with the ht://dig site is to allow the
user to sample a number of different formats for the result pages. I have
checked out the maindocs CVS tree, and will begin to commit improvements
within the next week. Please let me know what changes any other changes you
feel would improve the navigability/comprehensibility of the ht://dig
website.
